Every day the we conduct a Current Events group. One of the staff members will read the key portions of articles and then opens the topic up for discussion. It's amazing how participants differ in opinions and perception on the each topic. Many times explaining what the article is trying to communicate becomes most important.
Our primary resource is Schenectady's Daily Gazette and participant will often bring up items they see on the TV news or have heard from other people. The discussions can get very "lively" as people interject their opinions on the topic.
